INSIDER REVIEW

If you’ve been watching any American TV stations lately, it seems as though every second or third commercial is centered around the upcoming Presidential election. The attack ads, the promises and everything else that goes into a typical political campaign is front and center. Just in time to fit the theme, the Will Ferrell comedy “The Campaign” debuts on DVD and Blu-Ray this week! Starring Ferrell as a shady congressman and Zach Galifinakis as his opponent, this movie headlines a field of six new releases this week.

Here is a brief synopsis of each;

NEW RELEASES – DVD/Blu-Ray

The Campaign: starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifinakis– After a long time congressman is faced with a scandal, two wealthy businessmen hire a naive and bumbling local man to run against him. (Comedy) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Crooked Arrows: starring Brandon Routh- A man returns home to his first nations reserve with hopes of expanding the local casino but in order to do so, he must first prove himself to his father by coaching the local lacrosse team. (Drama/Sports) (DVD)

Safety Not Guaranteed: starring Aubrey Plaza and Mark Duplass– A group of Seattle magazine employees travel to California to find the author a mysterious classified ad who claims to be able to travel back in time. (Comedy) (DVD)

Ruby Sparks: starring Paul Dano and Antonio Banderas– A struggling young writer is thrilled and startled when a female character that he has written as his love interest suddenly comes to life. (Comedy/Romance) (DVD)

Coma: starring Lauren Ambrose and Geena Davis– A young medical student discovers that something is not entirely right in her hospital after routine procedures send more than a few seemingly healthy patients into comas on the operating table. (Drama/Mystery) (DVD)

My Friend Bernard: A shy young boy meets Bernard, a brave and adventurous polar bear. Together the two embark on a journey where Bernard teaches the boy to overcome his fears. (Kids) (DVD)

FOR THE GAMERS

Assassins Creed 3: In 1775, the American colonies are about to revolt. As Connor, an assassin who has sworn to secure liberty for his people and his nation, you must hunt your enemies across a staggeringly large, open, and realistic world. Need for Speed Most Wanted: Race, chase and explore a vast connected open world of incredible cars, police chases, and competition in the new city of Fairhaven. A brand new autolog feature will allow for record speeds, times, pursuits and jumps in this new game from the incredibly popular Need for Speed franchise. Available for PS3 and 360.
