Terrace Bay was recently recognized with numerous awards in the prestigous Lake Superior Magazine “Best of the Lake” contest for 2012. Lake Superior Magazine has been holding the contest for the past 33 years and voting surveys are featured online through traditional web and social media as well as in the magazine. Responses were received as far away as California, Texas and Maine and multiple Canadian cities as far away as Church Point, Nova Scotia.

We know everyone works very hard to cater to tourists and the beauty of our Municipality is one of our greatest strengths. Thank you to everyone that voted for Terrace Bay!" - Best Views (Overlooks) – Voters picked
- Terrace Bay lighthouse,
- the lookout behind the tourist information center
- Aquasabon Falls
- Best Gift Shop – Voters picked the Hummingbird Haus in the revitalized downtown
- Best Beaches – Voters picked Terrace Bay Beach
- Best Places to Paddle – Voters picked the Slates Islands Provincial Park
- Best Places to Hike – Voters picked the Casque Isles Trail
- Best Views (Lodging) – Voters picked the Imperial Motel
- Best Places to Eat – Voters picked the Drifters Restaurant
