Playground Fun Soon to Wind Up

MANITOUWADGE, ON– As the Township of Manitouwadge Community Services Playground program draws near it’s end, there are many fond memories for participants and their supervisers; Vanessa Ratte, Elaine Milks, Brooke Bodak, and Alicia Piche, to look back on. In the past 2 weeks among the theme days children 3-9yrs of age, enjoyed at Playground were:
- Pirates’ Day – which would not have been as big a hit without the search for treasure, crafted eye patches, masks and more
- Birthday Day – filled with birthday party style games, a birthday card craft and other fun activities
- Wild West Day – ‘WANTED’ posters were made, sheriff’s badges, etc.
- Christmas Day – complete with a tree which they decorated with their handmade ornaments and bells AND a visit from Brooke Clause (distant grand-neice of Mr. Santa Clause)
- Crazy Day – when the young friends were encouraged to wear crazy hair, crazy clothes and had the opportunity to create tie-dyed shirts
- Camp Day – when among the fun enjoyed, children became gardeners planting seeds they were able to bring home to watch bloom into flowers in the weeks to come,
There were many more – too many to name in fact and as the final two weeks wrap-up the fun, organizers continue to come up with creative and unique themes to keep the kids entertained, interested and attending. In fact, this week Playground reached maximum capacity as more children then could be accepted were interested in registering.
