MARATHON, ON – The Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) hosted the 23rd Annual Sick Kids Golf Tournament on August 10, 2012 at he Peninsula Golf Course in Marathon ON. The event was a huge success with 70 golfers turning out to support Sick Kids and play a round of golf. The event raised $9500.00 which was donated to the local chapter.
The organizers wish to thank all of our local supporters for their generous contributions. There was also great support from businesses along the north shore from Sault Ste Marie to Thunder Bay. Without these contributions, the event would not be able to generate the financial support needed to give our local families relief from financial hardship during stressful times.
Constable Dave Shaw would like to extend some special thanks to Brett Redden, Peninsula Golf Course pro, and his staff for a remarkable job and the organizing committee for all their hard work.
