MANITOUWADGE, ON – Thursday, July 26th participants of the Township of Manitouwadge Playground program walked, with their instructors Brooke Bodak, Alisha Piche and Vanessa Ratte, to the Museum for a special visit.

Museum Interpreter Josh Barnes welcomed the children and provided a tour of the more popular exibits, explaining the purpose of artifacts and display items and patiently answering the many queries presented by the kids.

The museum visit was among many exiciting activities enjoyed by playground attendees in this 4th Session of 2012.  Among this week’s theme days were:

  • Happy Easter!
  • Birthday Celebration
  • Manitouwadge Olympics
  • Under the Sea
each of the special days included many activities based on the theme, here are just a few of the things the children enjoyed throughout the week of July 23rd – 27th in addition to their walk to the Museum:
  • Birthday Games
  • Bunny Craft
  • Egg Hunt
  • Easter Relay
  • Loot Bags (decorated by the children)
  • Swimming at the Oasis Pool
  • Hand Crafts
Of course the children proudly bring home the crafts made at Playground to share stories of their various undertakings with parents and siblings.
Playground Instructors Vanessa Ratte, Brooke Bodak, Elaine Milks and Alicia Piche invite to register your child to join in the fun, daily from 12:30 – 4:30pm, as they introduce the children to new adventures, crafts, games and learning when Playground continues next week July 30 – August 3. The Manitouwadge Museum is open to the public throughout the summer,
  • Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11am – 5pm
  • Saturdays and Sundays from 11am – 6pm
