Manitouwadge Pizzeria Opens Giving Residents A Dining Option Beyond 8pm
VILLAGE PIZZA & SUBMARINES RE-OPENS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
MANITOUWADGE, ON – Word has spread fast in Manitouwadge that a community favourite, Village Pizza & Submarines, has re-opened adding a 3rd restaurant to the downtown core. Perhaps just as exciting for many local foodies than having a dining option available after 8pm (which has not existed in many months), is the fact that the new restauranteur, Mr. Shamm Jacobson, is using a sauce recipe very similar to the one loved by so many past patrons of the Village, the recipe of original owners Sophie & Greg.
Jacobson worked for Sophie & Greg for 6 years in Alberta before launching his own café and catering service, ‘Brown Sugar’, in the same province .
Why move to Manitouwadge sight unseen and start a business? He shared with OntarioNewsNorth.com Editor Karina Hunter that he had come to Manitouwadge to re-open the Village for reasons not unlike those he had for opening the aforementioned café, “It was an opportunity to try something new” explained Jacobson adding that “Manitouwadge sounded like such a nice, friendly place when Sophie and Greg described it.” He seems pleased with what he’s found here so far “I really like having the lake within view and walking distance of the pizzeria, it’s beautiful”.
If you’d like to taste Jacobson’s sauce and judge for yourself whether the new “Village Pizza and Submarines” sauce recipe is the best-yet blend of the new and old recipes call the Village at 826-2626 or visit to eat-in or take out at 26 Huron Walk during regular hours Tuesday through Sunday 4pm until Midnight (Closed Mondays).
