McGuinty Government Helping Retail And Service Workers
Ontario is helping local retailers and workers in Elliot Lake rebuild their businesses after the collapse of the Algo Centre Mall.
A community adjustment agreement has been signed with the City of Elliot Lake to help develop and implement a long-term recovery plan for local retailers, service employers and their workers.

This is just one of many steps the McGuinty government is undertaking to help the people of Elliot Lake move forward.

- Ontario has approved a Community Adjustment Agreement with the City of Elliot Lake for one year, starting July 9, 2012.
- The Agreement with the City is for $264,050.
- Community Adjustment occurs in situations where a larger work place closes, or when layoffs have broader, more adverse effects on a local economy.
