Healthy Swim Tips from TBDHU.com
GREENSTONE, ON – Public health inspectors for the Thunder Bay District Health Unit sample beaches in the district once a month during the summer. Most Northshore public beaches are scheduled to be tested in mid-July however Greenstone’s popular public beaches were sampled today (results from TBDHU are posted below).
High levels of E. coli (bacteria) in recreation water can cause health related problems in swimmers. If bacterial tests indicate that levels are unsafe for swimming or other water recreation, the Health Unit will decide to post an advisory to let the public know.
