Company Fined $4,500 For Operating Pit Under Suspension
A company from Hearst has been fined $4,500 for a violation of the Aggregate Resources Act.
NorBuilding Enterprises Ltd. pleaded guilty to operating an aggregate pit while its licence was under suspension. The pit was in operation for nine days while the licence was suspended.
The court heard that NorBuilding Enterprises Ltd. filed a production report for the 2010 operating year that revealed the company had operated an aggregate pit while its licence was suspended. Inspection of the pit and a subsequent investigation confirmed that NorBuilding Enterprises Ltd. had operated the pit.
Justice of the Peace Jean-Marie Blier heard the case in Ontario Court of Justice, Hearst, on June 12, 2012.
