MANITOUWADGE, ON – Ms. McLeod’s and Mrs. Schleier’s Grade 2/3 students have proven to be accomplished writers and illustrators. These ‘young authors’ invited the JK/SK students to their classroom to share in these joyful experiences of writing and reading. Their Kindergarten peers were captivated as the authors read their stories and displayed their illustrated cover title page. This experience encouraged the Kindergarten students to follow through on their own writing ideas.
When children become authors, it cements the connection between reading and writing. The sense of pride that the children felt in sharing their own published story was priceless. The Grade 2/3 students deserve to be congratulated for their efforts and their accomplishment. Bravo!!
