Photos/Update from Forest Fire Wawa #4

CLICK HERE for information on the Restricted Fire Zone that the Ministry of Natural Resources has in place at this time for the Northeast fire region, north of the French River including French River Provincial Park.

In the Northeast fire region, there are currently 14 active fires with 3750.8 hectares burning.

Excellent progress was made on existing fires yesterday. The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources is currently receiving assistance from FireRanger crews from the Northwest Region, as well as waterbombers from both Quebec and Newfoundland. Boader agreement partners in Quebec and Minnesota have also been engaged for Quick Strike water bombing capability.

Following the update yesterday regarding the reopening of highway 560a in the morning, residents remain on 3 hour evacuation notice should the fire situation change. The highway remains open as this time.
