KEEP YOUR THUMBS ON THE WHEEL
Canada Road Safety Week runs from 14 – 21May 2012. During this time the OPP remind drivers to keep their minds at the task at hand. Aggressive Driving, non compliance of seatbelts, impaired driving and distracted driving are driver actions that will be targeted during this week long campaign. Drivers need to consider the possible ramifications of their actions when ever operating a vehicle on our highways.
The message is simple, distracted driving can be conquered. If we can educate drivers to the importance of giving full attention to the task at hand we can keep our highways tragedy free. During this week OPP officers will be targeting driver who use of cell phones or other electronic devices while operating a vehicle. The challenge goes out to drivers in our community to
“keep your thumbs on the wheel and we will keep our pens in the pocket.”
Together we can keep our highways safe!
