Terrace Bay Lighthouse Opens TOMORROW! (April 5,2012)
TERRACE BAY, ON – Township of Terrace Bay Special Projects Coordinator Sean Irwin is excited to announce that the Terrace Bay Lighthouse will open to the public tomorrow, Thursday April 5, 2012. Irwin published an article earlier this week regarding the township’s receipt of funding for the 2012 Lighthouse Festival (see link below) as the community continues to celebrate this beautiful landmark and the impact it has had attracting new visitors to enjoy everything Terrace Bay has to offer.
The lighthouse will be open weekdays from 8am to 8pm and weekends from 10am to 4pm. Come visit one of the newest attractions, which includes the most breathtaking view, on the Northshore of Lake Superior!!! . The Terrace Bay Lighthouse was constructed in Spring 2011 as part of the Terrace Bay Downtown Revitalization Project and is a replica of the one on nearby Slate Islands, the tallest lighthouse on the Great Lakes.
In its first year, the Lighthouse had over 13,000 visitors becoming the symbol for the Terrace Bay’s rebranding.
