Tait Wins Epic Battle – Seven Matches Later…

MARATHON, ON – At the end of round robin the North Shore Secondary School Athletic Association (NSSSAA) Ladies Singles had a three way tie for 2nd place and a berth at the NWOSSAA badminton Championships in Thunder Bay on April 18th.
Tamara Tait from Michipicoten, Tessa Lanteigne from Manitouwadge and the hometown favourite, Lindsay Nutbrown defeated each other in round robin play and had to settle the score with additional games. Tait defeated Lanteigne in the first tie-breaker for the first time this season, and then went on to oust Nutbrown in two straight sets to earn the silver medal. The Ladies competition was the closest one in years.Tait and Mcparlane will face each other on Wednesday at St. Ignatious where the senior event is taking place. The juniors play at Superior Collegiate.
