Nipigon Mourns Linda Simola
Linne "Linda" Simola, deceased April 22, 2012
Simola, Linne “Linda”, 88 years, of Nipigon, Ontario, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 in the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital.A lifelong resident of Nipigon, Linda worked for Zechner’s Foodland for many years. She enjoyed skating, skiing, and league bowling with her husband Tauno. Linda served on the Nipigon Cemetery Committee.
Predeceased by her husband Tauno (2003), her parents – Hilma and Anton Autio, a baby brother in infancy and her good friend Helmi Lillies; she is survived by nieces and nephews, her Goddaughter Linda Kriff, her long time friend Helna Benson and by other relatives in Canada and in Finland.
According to Linda’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Linda Simola will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11 A.M. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #32, Nipigon with the Rev. Diane Hilpert-McIlroy officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Foundation or to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital – Long Term Care.
Arrangements are in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon.
