When you challenge yourself through exercise, you receive a real sense of accomplishment and control, additionally, working out triggers a release of endorphins, brain chemicals that make you feel great. Endorphins are small, protein molecules that are produced by cells in your nervous system and other parts of your body. An important role of endorphins is to work with sedative receptors that are known to relieve common pain.
This is one reason your family doctor will speak about regular exercise, so let’s remember these simple rules, for our brain and our bodies:
- Do something you FEAR.
- Healthy foods will help your body last a long time. Remember that when you reach for your bag of chips.
- Keep a journal of things that encourage you to feel powerful.
- Physical activities help you feel strong and give you more OOMPH for life.
- Challenge yourself daily. Ho many steps will you take today?
- Volunteer. Helping others makes you feel good on the inside and in your heart.
- Live in the PRESENT.
- Attach a new inspirational quote to your email weekly.
- Be open-minded about life.
- Always be yourself.
