April has arrived! And with a new month comes a new batch of new release movies and games! Plan a movie night with your family this long weekend; Crossover has everything you’ll need to ensure it’s a hit including this week’s wide array of titles ranging from serious dramas to family fun. Here’s a checklist to help you with planning your long weekend family movie night:

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT CHECKLIST

2-3 Movies – How to please everyone? Well a fun idea is to choose:

1 “kid movie” (this week’s SPACE DOGS could fit the bill) let those who don’t find after-dinner conversation appealing watch this one while the grown-ups enjoy dessert and some time to chat *If your “young” family members aren’t fans of that type of movie how about a video console & game rental?*

1 “family movie” (WE BOUGHT A ZOO has plenty of interesting animal antics for younger viewers and an inspirational, ‘based on a real story’ plot that adults will enjoy (oh, and enough laughs that the older youth won’t be rolling their eyes too much)

1 “adult movie” this one is for after the kids go to sleep (it is a long weekend, maybe a Thursday or Sunday night sleepover is part of the plan?)

Treats and refreshments for everyone, those of you who don’t want to be eating snacks before Easter, maybe the ‘treat’ is a go at “THE CLAW” while at Crossover

you’ll need something to carry it all in, there are only a few of our $1-Crossover tote bags left, remember proceeds will benefit the Marathon Food Bank.

That’s it, your ready now you just need to decide who gets the remote, who gets the “comfy” spot and how late the kids will stay up – sorry, no advice to offer there- those complicated issues are best left for you to work-out!

There are a total of seven titles making their debut this week. Let’s have a look at each one in more detail;

NEW RELEASES ON DVD & Blu-RAY

War Horse: Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Jeremy Irvine– The incredible story of a young man and his horse, who are separated by war and taken on very different paths. (Drama) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

We Bought a Zoo: starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson– After his teenage son gets into trouble, a father moves the family to the countryside to renovate and re-open a struggling zoo. (Family/Drama) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Space Dogs: The story of two dogs who are launched into space and become the first animals ever in outer space! (Family/Kids) (DVD)

Angels Crest: starring Thomas Dekker and Mira Sorvino- After a 3-year-old boy disappears, a small tightly knit community becomes divided as accusations are made and secrets are discovered. (Drama) (DVD)

Breaking Wind: starring Danny Trejo– A comedic spoof based on the worldwide phenomenon, The Twilight Saga. (Comedy) (DVD)

Mercenaries: starring Billy Zane– An ex British S.A.S serviceman turned mercenary, is sent into the Balkans after a military coup has arisen to rescue a U.S ambassador and his aide. (Action) (DVD)

Seven Days in Utopia: starring Robert Duvall, Lucas Black and Melissa Leo- After a disastrous debut on the pro golf circuit, a young man finds himself stranded in Utopia, Texas where he is befriended by an eccentric rancher. (Drama) (DVD)

FOR THE GAMERS

Nothing new this week, but our pre-order lists for May have arrived and it looks like there will be a bunch of great games throughout the month of May. Attention Residents of Manitouwadge

We need your feedback! We are considering the possibility of providing a movie rental service in Manitouwadge. The movies would be delivered to the customer’s home each Tuesday and then returned the following Tuesday. We are looking at potentially launching the service in June. Cost and other details are still being worked out, but before we proceed any further we need to know if this service would be supported.
