Terrace Bay Supportive Housing Public Forum
The Terrace Bay Supportive Housing Committee continues to work hard at evaluating the need for this vital service in the Community. The committee has conducted a needs assessment with surveys going to residents (52 received) and has initiated a feasibility study with FORM Architecture from Thunder Bay. The next stage in the process is to receive public feedback on key questions like locations, building layouts, services to be offered, and style. Funding for a project of this type has been announced by Thunder Bay District Social Services and Administration Board; however it will be competitive with other Municipalities requesting their share. Terrace Bay must submit a well thought out and financially feasible proposal to have a chance to be selected for funding. The public forum is another opportunity for residents to give their advice and the Architectural team will be showing concept drawings of how a building could be constructed and where it would be located. The public forum will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 @ 7pm at the Michael King Hall. If someone is interested but unable to attend, they can give their input and answer questions by contacting Sean Irwin at 825-3315, x231 or by email at spc@terracebay.ca to arrange a meeting.
