My name is Sandra Lesar. I am an . I’m excited about what I’m doing and would like to take this opportunity to speak with you about telemedicine.
Telemedicine uses two-way video conferencing to connect you to specialists at a distance, reducing your need to travel to receive care. During a telemedicine appointment, you will be able to see, hear and speak with a doctor or another health care professional to whom you have been referred. This appointment is made possible through the Ontario Telemedicine Network, one of the largest telemedicine networks in the world.
Before you arrive, the specialist you are going to see will already have relevant information about you to support your telemedicine visit. However, you maybe asked to bring test results, medications or x-rays with you.
I am specially trained to support your telemedicine visit with the specialist and will be with you during your visit. I serve as the specialist’s eyes and ears, using special tele-diagnostic equipment like a digital stethoscope, otoscope or patient examination camera that allows the specialist to examine as though you were both in the same room!
You will not be billed for this service, which is covered under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. (OHIP)
Your telemedicine visit is private and confidential, only accessible to the health care professionals involved.
If you would like more information please feel free to contact me (details below).
