NIPIGON, ON – December 20, 2011 at 10:50 p.m. Schreiber Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of a traffic hazard on Hwy 17, west of Schreiber in the Township of Kilraine.
The driver of an east bound tractor trailer unit lost control while climbing a steep hill on a snow covered road. The tractor part of the vehicle entered the east bound ditch and the trailer was blocking both east and west lanes of traffic. Hwy 17 was closed for approximately four and a half hours at which time the hazard was removed from the roadway.
There were no injuries and no charges were laid.
