Christmas Preparations at OLOL
LIFE AT OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC SCHOOL
Door decorating contest:
It is time to get ready for Christmas!!! Friday afternoon, the students and staff at OLOL did just that! Working to the sound of Christmas music, each class took part in a door decorating activity. Students were to use their creativity, come up with a theme, and get busy!
Amidst the Santas, the presents, the lights and all other commercial and traditional aspects of Christmas, everyone demonstrated an awareness of the fact that
Jesus is the Reason for the season,
by including a reminder that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of our Saviour.
Letters to Santa:
Every year in December, children all around the world write letters to Santa, making requests for special gifts. The grade One and Two students at Our Lady of Lourdes applied their letter-writing strategies, and crafted their best letters to Santa, making sure to state that their would be treats for Santa and for his reindeers.
Wednesday, December 14th, letters in hand, they marched to the Post Office, excited to mail their letters to Santa. Now the children are anxiously awaiting for Christmas morning, to see if Santa was able to grant them their wish; and maybe if they’re lucky, Santa might even write them back or get one of his elves to do so.
