TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO $34,000 DRUG SEIZURE

MARATHON, ON – Wednesday November 2, 2011 at approximately 4:25 pm an officer from the Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 17 east of Marathon in the District of Thunder Bay. During the traffic stop a quantity of cannabis marihuana and prescription pills were discovered in the vehicle. The drugs have an estimated value of over $34,000.00.

The male driver, Joshua CALLADINE (38 yrs old) from Quinte West ON, faces charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Marathon on December 15, 2011 at 9:00 am.
