Recycling Electronics in Manitouwadge
The Corporation of the Township of Manitouwadge has entered into an agreement with Ontario Electronic Stewardship under the Collection Site Operator Agreement, passed at our Regular Council Meeting of July 13, 2011 under By-Law 2011-14.
Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) is a not-for-profit industry organization that oversees the responsible reuse and recycling of waste electronics through its network of more than 600 approved collection sites across the province. The program was developed in co-operation with Waste Diversion Ontario under the Waste Diversion Ac, 2002.
Residents of Manitouwadge and area can now bring their used, obsolete or unwanted electronic equipment for responsible reuse and refurbishment or safe, secure recycling. The reason is simple – to recover what can be used again, and safely manage hazardous materials which should never go to landfill.
WHERE DO I TAKE MY USED ELECTRONICS?
Used electronics can now be brought to the Manitouwadge Landfill Site during regular operating hours. The Landfill attendant will direct you to the designated area for Waste Electronic Equipment (WEE). From the Landfill Site items will be reused or recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.
