MARATHON, ON – Friday October 14, 2011 at approximately 10:15 pm an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon detachment conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 17 east ofMarathon in the District of Thunder Bay. During the traffic stop a quantity of cannabis marihuana and cannabis resin (hashish) were discovered in the vehicle. The drugs have an estimated value of approximately $7,000.
The three occupants face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – David REMILLARD, a 22 year old male, Melissa SANCHEZ-LEBLANC, a 21 year old female both from St. Constant, QC and Valerie GUERIN, a 22 year old female from Longueuil, QC were charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of a Schedule II substance.
The three accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court in Marathonon December 15, 2011 at 9:00 am.
