FROM MANITOUWADGE PUBLIC SCHOOL
MANITOUWADGE, ON – For the last 4 weeks, Raija Hach (Grade 6) and Brooke Sagle (Grade 5) have been practising and improving their running skills. They have been training 3 times a week after school with Kristy LaChance who offered her expertise to the students of Manitouwadge Public School and École Publique Franco-Manitou.
These two young athletes put everything they had learned to the test on Friday October 14th at the Our Lady of Lourdes cross country meet. The girls competed against themselves and others in their age group (11 and under). Raija came out front with the fastest time for her group and the fastest overall time for Grades 4 to 8 girls. Brooke finished the race with an excellent time and a smile on her face. The girls were cheered on by parents, coaches and their class!
Raija and Brooke will compete in Thunder Bay on October 22nd in the Royal Canadian Legion cross country run. Have fun girls and good luck in your quest for the gold!!!
