Iowa Man Fined For Posing As Ontario Resident
An Iowa man has been fined a total of $970 for bear hunting-related offences.
Brandon R. Barber of Ackley, Iowa, pleaded guilty to making a false statement on an Ontario Resident Outdoors Card application. He was fined $485; he was fined an additional $485 for hunting black bear without a valid licence.
The court heard that in August 2010, Barber provided false information to apply for an Ontario Resident Outdoors Card. He then used the card to obtain a resident black bear hunting licence and went bear hunting in Ontario during the 2010 black bear hunting season.

A resident of Ontario is defined as a person whose primary residence is in Ontario and who has lived in Ontario for a period of at least six consecutive months during the 12 months immediately before applying for a licence.
