Dogs make a great walking companion, a great personal trainer and this a great way to motivate yourself to walk longer distances and more often. A trusty pet dog would never let you down and in fact would remind you daily that a walk is intended.
Not only is this exercise beneficial to you but also to your dog. Walking helps to improve your overall health and fitness and is a great way to lose weight, tone your muscles, strengthen your heart and instill a general feeling of well-being and positive self-esteem. Your walk can be as social or as independent as you want. Change it up often, grab your neighbor’s dog if you do not have one of your own, put an ad in the paper and become the local dog walker. Make a few extra dollars while putting in your cardio hours.
