THUNDER BAY, ON – September 8, 2011 members of the Drug Enforcement Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 2000 block of Hamilton Avenue, Thunder Bay.
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 760 Oxycodone tablets, 9 grams of marihuana and 1500.00 in Canadian Currency. The street value of the Oxycodone seized is approximately 38,000.00 dollars.
Charged is:
Mathew KRUZEL (21 years of age) of Thunder Bay with:
- Production of Oxycodone for the Purposes of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession of Marihuana, contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Resisting Arrest, contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.
- Breach of Recognizance, contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.
KRUZEL was taken into custody and will appear before the courts in Thunder Bay on September 9, 2011.
The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from The Thunder Bay Police Service, The O.P.P.- Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, The R.C.M.P., The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and The Anishinabek Police Service.
