TRAFFIC STOPS LEAD TO DRUG SEIZURE

MARATHON, ON – Friday August 5, 2011 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Highway 17 in the Marathon area.

During the traffic stop a quantity of marijuana was discovered with an estimated street value of $4000.00.

Liam JONES a 23 year old male from Chelsea, Quebec and a 21 yr old man also from Quebec were both arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of trafficking. They were released from custody and are to appear in Marathon criminal court on Oct 13, 2011 for these charges.

MANITOUWADGE, ON — Saturday August 6, 2011, Manitouwadge OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Highway 17. During the traffic stop a quantity of marijuana was discovered with an estimated street value of $4000.00 as well as $25,000.00 in cash.

Charles CLAIRMONT a 48 year old male from Arcadia, Nova Scotia was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00. He was released from custody and is to appear in Marathon Criminal Court on September 29, 2011 on these charges.
