LONGLAC, ON – At approximately 9:12am August 18, 2011 two Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a 911 hang up call at a Thom Street address in Longlac. Upon arrival at the residence officers located a 21 year old male and a 20 year old female.
Shortly after police arrived, the male and female became combative toward the officers and an altercation took place. During the altercation the 20 year old female sustained a minor injury and was transported to the Geraldton Hospital by ambulance.
The Province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been notified by the OPP and has invoked its mandate. Further inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
