In the midst of all of this summer heat, I can only hope that everyone is remembering to treat themselves to the occasional movie 😉 August is well underway and is proving to be a fantastic month for new releases! This week is no different with a total of twelve new releases hitting the shelves tomorrow (Tuesday). Let’s have a look at each title…
NEW RELEASES
Paul: starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost- Two British comic-book geeks traveling across the U.S. encounter an alien outside Area 51. They soon find themselves on a crazy mission to get the alien, Paul, to his destination. (Comedy) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Your Highness: starring Danny McBride, James Franco and Natalie Portman- When Prince Fabious’s bride is kidnapped, he goes on a quest to rescue her… accompanied by his lazy useless brother Thadeous. (Comedy) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Mars Needs Moms: starring the voice of Seth Green- A young boy named Milo gains a deeper appreciation for his mom after Martians come to Earth to take her away. (Family/Animated) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Jumping the Broom: starring Loretta Devine- Two very different families converge on Martha’s Vineyard one weekend for a wedding to be remembered. (Comedy) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Waiting for Forever: starring Tom Sturridge- A young man is content to live his life without a job but not without the love of his life, his best friend from many years ago (Drama/Romance) (DVD)
Unanswered Prayers: A man living an ideal life is suddenly tested by the return of his first high-school love, who is visiting from Chicago. The woman begins to seduce him into reliving the past. Based on Garth Brooks’ song of the same name (Drama) (DVD)
Camp Hell: starring Jesse Eisenberg- Based on a True Story. Children at a spiritual summer resort camp begin to show signs of being possessed. (Horror) (DVD)
Last Godfather: starring Harvey Keitel- A Mafia boss trains his mentally impaired son to be his successor. (Comedy) (DVD)
Flesh Wounds: starring Kevin Sorbo- After a group of scientists conducting top secret weapon experiments vanish, an elite covert ops team, is tasked with recovering the missing personnel within 24 hours. (Action) (DVD)
Repeaters: Three twenty-somethings find themselves in an impossible time labyrinth, where each day they awaken to the same terrifying day as the preceding one. (Drama/Sci-Fi) (DVD)
Super: starring Rainn Wilson- After his wife falls under the influence of a drug dealer, an everyday guy transforms himself into Crimson Bolt, a superhero with the best intentions, though he lacks for heroic skills. (Comedy) (DVD)
Born to Ride: Two roughneck bikers stumble into evidence of a major political blackmailing, and race to outrun the killers who seek to suppress it at any cost. (Action) (DVD)
FOR THE GAMERS:
Unfortunate no new games this week but keep your eyes peeled for some big names later this month as well as several huge releases in September (including NHL 12!). To pre-order any upcoming game title, please call us at 807-230-9093. No deposit or down payment required!
ON ICE
NHL 12 is promising to be such a big deal that we may just end up opening the store at midnight to let the hardcore fans get a quick fix on what should be a very popular game!
The details are still very sketchy, but it appears as though the NHL 12 tournament will be happening in late September. As always, stay tuned to the Crossover Insider on OntarioNewsNorth.com for more details as they become available!
TASTY ARRIVALS
Later this week, we will be receiving a rather large shipment of new candy! Some items to look for include Clove Gum (a nostalgic gum first produced in the early 1900’s), Almond Joy (a very popular American bar featuring Almonds and coconut) and Dentyne Classic (the original cinnamon flavoured Dentyne from the early days!)
