“Our Emergency Management Control Group is in place and is being briefed and setting up the appropriate strategies and logistics to handle the situation,” Town of Marathon Mayor Rick Dumas.
MARATHON, ON – The Town of Marathon has issued a local Declaration of Emergency and is in the process of preparing to accept up to 200 evacuated residents due to the forest fire situation in the Northwest. Official word has not yet been received from Emergency Management Ontario on when or exactly how many evacuees Marathon will receive.
“Our Emergency Management Control Group is in place and is being briefed and setting up the appropriate strategies and logistics to handle the situation,” states Mayor Rick Dumas.
As more details are finalized and information is received, the community and media will be updated appropriately.
