MARATHON, ON – Transportation logistics are currently being finalized to the 230 evacuees in Marathon to Thunder Bay and Sioux Lookout.
“This move will help the evacuees get closer to Sandy Lake when they eventually get the go-ahead to move back home,” states Mayor Rick Dumas. “Overall I think our Emergency Management Team, Fire Department, Town Staff, local healthcare and service providers, volunteers, and local businesses did a great in hosting our visitors and accommodating their needs as best we could.”
