PONTIAC, MI – The Thunder Bay Chill have advanced to the Central Conference Finals of the Premier Development League (PDL) after defeating the Chicago Fire 1-0 on Friday night. Luis Gonzalez scored the games’ only goal in the 37th minute, and that’s all the goals the stingy Chill defense needed to secure a win.
Gustavo Oliveira assisted the goal, and led the attack for the Chill, never allowing the Fire to get comfortable in defense. Anthony Putrus, Pedro Pereira, Wilson Neto and Nolan Interomoia were all cautioned in the game.
The Chill will now face the winner between the hosting Michigan Bucks and heated rivals Des Moines Menace. The Conference Championship will take place tonight (Saturday, July 30th), at 7:30 p.m. (EDT). The game can be seen live at www.usllive.com .
