NEW RELEASES
July is just around the corner and it promises to be another excellent month for new movies. Look for such titles as Rio (perfect for the kids who will be out of school), Lincoln Lawyer, Limitless, Source Code and many more big titles to be making their DVD and Blu-Ray debut in July. Tomorrow (June 28th) is the last new release day for June and 11 titles will be available for your viewing pleasure. The titles are;
Season of the Witch: Starring Nicolas Cage- 14th-century knights transport a suspected witch to a monastery, where monks deduce her powers could be the source of the Black Plague. (Action) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Beastky: Starring Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer- A modern-day take on the “Beauty and the Beast” tale where a New York teen is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love. (Fantasy/Romance) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Sucker Punch: Starring Emily Browning- A young girl is institutionalized by her abusive stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the mental facility. (Fantasy/Sci-Fi) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Barney’s Version: Starring Dustin Hoffman and Paul Giamatti- Based on the popular novel by Mordecai Richler. A man falls in love with another woman- right after his wedding! (Comedy/Romance) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (Academy Award Nominee)
Bloodworth: Starring Kris Kristofferson and Val Kilmer- A veteran country singer returns home after 40 years of roaming, to find that his wife is no longer the same woman, his sons hate him and the only one that he has any bond with is his grandson. (Drama) (DVD)
Crazy Love: Starring Estella Warren and Whoppi Goldberg- When a young lady finds out that her therapist is on vacation, she uses Craig’s list to organize a large group therapy session. (Comedy/Romance) (DVD)
Cyrus: A news crew investigates a series of unexplained disappearances in a small Midwestern county. (Crime/Mystery) (DVD)
Guilty Hearts: Starring Eva Mendez, Charlie Sheen, Gerard Butler and Kathy Bates- Six completely different stories surrounding different topics that affect us emotionally. (Drama) (DVD)
Savage: A story of obsession and revenge, as a man tries to come to terms with a brutal, random attack and its consequences. (Thriller) (DVD)
Wake Wood: The parents of a girl who was killed by a savage dog are granted the opportunity to spend three days with their deceased daughter. (Horror) (DVD)
White Irish Drinkers: Two brothers looking for a way out of their working-class neighborhood make a pact to rob a local theatre on the night of a Rolling Stones concert. (Drama) (DVD)
FOR THE GAMERS:
Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3: Part 3 in the series, Gundam 3 is an action packed hack and slash game with several storyline twists. The game can also be played online with 4 player online mode. (PS3 and 360)
Super Street Fighter IV: An updated version of the previously release Street Fighter IV containing more content that could fit onto the original version. This game is economically priced while supporting multiplayer and several different game modes. (PS3 and 360)
LOCAL FOOD DRIVE

June 17th, our first ever food drive came to an end. Thanks to the generosity of those who contributed, 105 food items (valuing over 300 dollars) were collected. Mitch Donaldson, of the Food Bank was very pleased with these results- so thank you again to those who contributed! The Food Bank can still use our help so please keep an eye open for their change boxes at various businesses around Marathon.
SUMMERFEST
Friday, July 1st, look for our table at the Marathon Summerfest Open Market. We will be selling our delicious popcorn (plain and seasoned) along with some of our candy and refreshments. On Tuesday, July 5th, we are sponsoring the Drive In movie night and will once again be on hand with our popcorn. Then on Thursday, July 7th, we will be holding a video game tournament. Should be an exciting week!
