Local Conductor 2011 Inductee to the Rainbow Stage Theatre Wall of Fame

Rainbow Stage developed its Wall of Fame in 2004 with the intention of honouring, in a permanent way, those special people who have made an outstanding contribution to the company. Nominations are made in one or more of the following six categories: Creative, Performer, Business, Volunteer, Administrative or Technical. The panel of judges annually selects up to six inductees for presentation to the Board of Directors.
Gerry Price was just inducted to the Rainbow Stage Theatre Wall of Fame for his work as assistant conductor over nearly 20 years. During his connection with Rainbow, Gerry auditioned chorus members and professional singers, prepared the amateur choruses prior to rehearsal, and shaped the vocal music prior to production. He participated in at least sixteen shows including Showboat, Music Man, Kiss Me Kate, The Sound of Music, Kismet, and H.M.S. Pinafore. The Board described his work with Rainbow as truly noteworthy [pun intended?]. Gerry explains that working at Rainbow Stage provided a wonderful opportunity for his personal development as well as a chance to rub shoulders with the best and brightest of Canadian musical theatre performers, choreographers, and directors.
Gerry Price currently lives in Rossport and runs the Island Shores Bed and Breakfast with his wife, Nannette. He is the artistic director of the North Shore Singers now in its fourth year of providing high quality choral entertainment on the North Shore and working on its Spring Concert, Sailors and Bobby Socks.
The award ceremony will take place June 21, 2011 at the Rainbow Stage Theatre in Kildonan Park, Winnipeg,
