Building A Stronger Ontario Through Youth Engagement
McGuinty Government Helps Youth Learn New Skills To Shape Their Communities
Ontario is investing in two initiatives that will shape the next generation of leaders through involvement in local community building activities.
Sixty-one organizations in 23 communities across Ontario will provide mentorship, leadership training and foster community engagement for newcomer youth through the Youth Opportunities Program. Through these projects, youth will learn marketable skills they can use to help to strengthen their communities.
The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative encourages thousands of high school students to research social issues and advocate solutions for their community in partnership with local charities.
Investing in the skills and talents of all Ontarians is part of the McGuinty government’s plan to support our not-for-profit sector, strengthen our communities and grow our economy.
