Two Year Anniversary of Sue’s Needles & Threads
MANITOUWADGE, ON – Sue Partridge retired to Manitouwadge 4 years ago, from Toronto then Ottawa. Having been raised in a family of 14 children , Sue learned to sew at a very young age, not only doll clothes but her own wearing apparel from lingerie to outerwear. Sue has been quilting for 40 years and has taken numerous workshops from renown fibre artists.
Why start her own business? “There is nothing more frustrating than working on a project and realizing that I could not buy the special supplies needed to complete it anywhere in Manitouwadge” said Partridge. So, after 2 years of this problem Sue decided to open Sue’s Needles & Threads to provide a well needed service to the people of Manitouwadge.
On May 1st, 2009 Sue’s Needles & Threads opened its doors for business. Sue’s now boasts more than 100 bolts of fabrics, from cotton muslin to cuddled satin. Sue also carries cotton. flannels and bamboo batting. Sue’s Needles & Threads includes a considerable stock of notions and threads that are necessary for every day sewing or quilting.
In April 2010 Sue’s Needles & Threads acquired a long arm quilting frame and machine. Customers can visit Sue’s and create their own quilts for a minimal fee or skip the labouring and have Sue quilt it for them. Sue’s Needles & Threads offers private or small group classes on assorted projects; Sue will help you design your own quilt or accomplish any unfinished projects you may have buried in your closets.
