LONGLAC, ON – April 2nd, OntarioNewsNorth.com Editor, Karina Hunter, spoke with Geraldton Jamboree volunteer Alan Ouellet (Owner of Footstomp Fightwear) about planning underway for the 2011 Geraldton Jamboree. This year’s Jamboree is gearing up to be bigger and better than ever with a Battle in the Park planned which offers competitors a chance at their share of $3,000 in cash prizes, plus the opportunity to open for one of the headlining bands, on Saturday or Sunday of the Jamboree.
Interested performers should visit www.GeraldtonJamboree.ca to register now as only 10 bands will be accepted into the competition and several have already confirmed their attendance, with a top prize of $2,000 cash and 2nd place taking home $1,000 the musician’s face-off is drawing plenty of attention. Bands need not be from the Greenstone area.
Ouellet was also very excited to tell us about the Amateur Strongman Competition which he is organizing. Ouellet, an ex-fighter himself, is a huge promoter of MMA and beleives the strongman competition will help draw a new crowd to the Jamboree.
