MANITOUWADGE, ON – Thursday, April 27th, residents from across the riding of Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing tuned in to watch as OntarioNewsNorth.com streamed live from Manitouwadge High School a candidates’ night organized by volunteer Natalie Labbee.
Mediator Al Cresswell, News Director CFNO.fm, did a wonderful job at ensuring the evening was kept respectable and refused to let candidates or audience members have it detoriate to arguments. Many questions were asked by those viewing on OntarioNewsNorth.com through Editor, Karina Hunter, from White River and Wawa. White River Mayor, Angelo Bazzoni, was in the audience and took the opportunity to address his concerns to the candidates as well.
Both those in attendance and those joining through the Live online stream of the event seemed quite dissapointed that PC Candidate Ray Strugeon who had been lunching with supporters and meeting constituents in Manitouwadge the day prior chose not to stay for the event to which he had been invited 2 weeks prior. NDP Incumbent Carol Hughes, Liberal candidate Francois Cloutier and Green Party candidate Lorraine Rekman were in attendance, participating fully as they answered all the questions directed at them both from audience members and those watching online; the three also sat with OntarioNewsNorth.com for live interviews afterwards (see links below).
