MANITOUWADGE, ON – Tuesday, March 8 Nite on the Town Entertainment Series (NOTES) of the Arts presented their last show of the 2010-11 season, Jim Witter’s Long and Winding Road, a Beatles Tribute. The show brought in music lovers of all ages, many returning, having loved Witter when he performed in Manitouwadge 2 years prior.
In her introduction, NOTES Chairwoman Natalie Labbée is helped by a series regular, Emeraude Charron (pictured here) to draw a Series Pass for 2011/12, it is won by Ron Jung. Jung and his wife Jackie have been series regulars for years.
The band, Jim Witter, Ian Tanner, Dave Wiffen and Darryl McWater, put on an incredibly energetic show, connecting with the audience on a very personal level. Behind them, projected on the big screen was a featurette, re-counting Beatles history, the stories behind the songs, and more. Their final performance brought audience members to their feet as they cheered demanding an encore; a few more numbers and they were back on their feet again, thouroughly impressed with how Witter and his band ‘left it all on the stage’ giving a high-energy show right to the last chord.
