CROSSOVER INSIDER – New Releases March 29

Natalie Portman has appeared in many great movies like Cold Mountain, The Other Boleyn Girl and Brothers. Never before had she won an Academy Award until her performance as Odile in Black Swan. Portman’s performance was so powerful and disturbing that she was considered a hands down favourite for the award. This week, we will all get to enjoy her work, as Black Swan makes it DVD and Blu-Ray premiere Tuesday at Crossover Video and Games. Here is a complete list of our new release titles this week;

Black Swan: starring Natalie Portman- A ballet dancer wins the lead in “Swan Lake” and is perfect for the role of the White Swan – Princess Odette – but slowly, she loses her mind as she becomes more and more like Odile, the Black Swan (DVD and Blu Ray)

Fair Game: starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts- CIA operative Valerie Plame discovers her identity is allegedly leaked by the government as payback for an op-ed article her husband wrote criticizing the Bush administration. (Inspired by True Events) (DVD and Blu Ray)

Tangled: animated featuring the voice of Mandy Moore- The magically long-haired Rapunzel has spent her entire life in a tower, but now that a runaway thief has stumbled upon her, she is about to discover the world for the first time, and who she really is. (DVD and Blu-Ray)

American Violet: starring Alfre Woodard- A single African-American mother struggles to clear her name after being wrongly accused and arrested for dealing drugs in an impoverished town in Texas. (DVD only)

Cool It: A documentary that takes an alternative approach to dealing with the global warming crisis. (DVD only)

Heartless: starring Jim Sturgess- Jamie Morgan, a young man with a large heart-shaped birthmark on his face, discovers that there are demons on the streets of East London. (DVD only)

Made in Dagenham: starring Sally Hawkins- A dramatization of the 1968 strike at the Ford Dagenham car plant, where female workers walked out in protest against sexual discrimination. (DVD only)

Partir (Leaving): starring Kristen Scott Thomas- When Suzanne and a man hired to renovations meet, the mutual attraction is sudden and violent. Suzanne decides to give up everything and live this all engulfing passion to the fullest (DVD only) (French with English Subtitles)

Scar: Joan Burrows returns to her hometown for her niece’s graduation, only to be confronted by the serial killer she thought she killed years ago — after he kidnapped and tormented her and her best friend (DVD only)

FOR THE GAMERS:

Nascar 2011– The first Nascar game to be released in a few years, Nascar 2011 will feature all 23 Sprint Cup series tracks and 43 of the sports most popular drivers. The game also features a damage model with cars catapulting into the air and barrel rolling over others. (PS3 and 360)

WWE All Stars– Featuring the most popular wrestlers of today mixed with classic wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior. All wrestlers are able to perform their signature moves in an arcade style game play. (PS3, 360 and WII)

Dynasty Warriors 7– The 7^th part of the Dynasty Warriors series has improved graphics and is Playstaion Move and 3D compatible. It will be the first game in the series to extend past the Battle of Wuzhang Plains. Consequently, the Jin Kingdom will be added, bringing the total number of major factions to four. (PS3 and 360)

Shift 2– The 17^th instalment in the extremely popular Need for Speed series, Shift 2 is a sequel to the 2009 game Need for Speed Shift. This game redefines the racing simulator genre by delivering authentic and dynamic crash physics, plus insanely detailed real-world cars, drivers and tracks. (PS3 and 360)

Sunday was the big release day for the Nintendo 3DS! If you haven’t already checked into this new gaming device, you should definitely do so! It is quite an impressive piece of hardware!
