Cast in Township of Manitouwadge’s production of Cinderella released

Preparations in Manitouwadge for Theatrical Production of Cinderella

MANITOWADGE, ON – For several months, Manitouwadge Community Programmer Shawna Patterson has been diligently working at the production of Cinderella a Comedy Fairytale a scripted play from an author with Heuer Publishing.

The play, which has approximately 30 roles both speaking and non-speaking, follows the storyline of Cinderella, however each scene is led in by two funny old ladies. After weeks spent casting, Patterson finalized the cast and began reharsals with her cast of mostly children. There is much to do in bringing together a performance of this size, in addition to those being cast for positions on stage, there is make-up, costume, set design, promotion but Patterson does have experience in this department. Last fall Patterson wrote, directed and produced a murder mystery dinner theatre to the community which was a big hit and received rave reviews by those who attended.

There are still volunteer positions available, as well as one part of a Royal Guard that has yet to be cast! If you would like to be involved, in set-up, take-down, set creation, costume or rehearsals, Patterson would love to hear from you, contact her weekdays at the township at 826-3227.

The cast practices several times a week and Patterson is very pleased with the homework her actors have been putting into learning their lines, she also credits those involved with being receptive of direction and understanding of the necessary takes and re-takes that can be trying at times.
