NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE DRUG WARRANT YIELDS OXYS AND RITALIN

FORT HOPE, ON – January 28, 2011, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit members charged a woman and a youth after executing a search warrant issued under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence in the First Nation Community of Eabametoong.
The total northern street value of the seized drugs is approximately three thousand five-hundred ($3,500.00) dollars for OxyCodone and one hundred ($100.00) dollars for Ritalin. Police also seized a total of two thousand sixty-five ($2,065.00) dollars in cash.
Twenty-nine (29) year-old Sarah Louise YELLOWHEAD of Eabametoong First Nation has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and also Breach of a Conditional Sentence Order.
A sixteen (16) year-old male youth has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. The youth cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Both YELLOWHEAD and the youth have been released on conditions and will next appear in court in Fort Hope on April 7, 2011.
Eabametoong First Nation is located approximately 385 km northeast of Thunder Bay.
