Well, as most now know, Wyerton Willy did not see his shadow Tuesday, however, Schreiber Marie, Schreiber Blake, Schreiber Rayne and Schreiber Raoul, did see theirs! Photo courtesy Holy Angels School Copyright 2011

SCHREIBER, ON – Whether a prediction of an early spring is a good or bad thing varies greatly, depending on whom you speak to on the Northshore because though we have some of the roughest winters in Canada, many live in our region exactly because of that. It isn’t just outdoor looving adults either, many kids for example, think of Spring around the corner and grimace at the idea of sliding, skiing, skating, snowman building and other winter-only activities they love coming to an early end.
In honour of Ground Hog Day, some of the children from Holy Angels Catholic School Kindergarten class investigated shadows. Unfortunately, the results lead to some not so good news –– Willy’s Groundhog Day weather report may have said an early spring, but as can be seen in the photo above, some of Schreiber’s favourite meteoroligists saw their shadow and decided – SIX MORE WEEKS OF WINTER!
