McGuinty Government Appoints Experienced Veteran
Tadeusz (Ted) Wieclawek, Ontario Fire Marshall
Ontario has appointed Tadeusz (Ted) Wieclawek as the province’s Fire Marshal. Wieclawek joined the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) in 1992 and has held several high-ranking positions, most recently Deputy Assistant Fire Marshal responsible for Fire Protection Services.
Wieclawek was an integral part of the policy and legislative development of Ontario’s Fire Protection and Prevention Act. As Deputy Assistant Fire Marshal he worked closely with municipalities to help determine appropriate levels of fire protection and ensure the OFM is monitoring the delivery of fire services across the province.
A graduate of Queen’s University, Wieclawek is a member of the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs, the International Association of Fire Chiefs and sits on the Professional Standards Setting Body Committee.
