Nipigon/Schreiber OPP Weekend Review

SCHREIBER OPP INVESTIGATE COLLISION          

NIPIGON, ON –During the weekend of January 21 to January 23, 2011 Nipigon and Schreiber Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 24 calls for service and issued numerous Provincial Offence Notices.  Officers investigated seven motor vehicle collisions.

Sunday January 23 at 10:40 a.m. Schreiber OPP attended a motor vehicle collision on Hwy 17, Township of Killraine.   The driver of a West bound sport utility vehicle lost control and slid into the path of an East bound pickup truck.   The driver and a passenger of the sport utility vehicle, a 35 year old female and a 44 year old female of Schreiber, were transported to McCausland Hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.   The 60 year old male driver and two passengers of the pick up truck from Manitouwadge were also transported to McCausland Hospital for non life threatening injuries.

Hwy 17 was closed for approximately one hour while police conducted an investigation.  No charges have been laid.
