New Year’s Resolutions Made Do-Able
In the past few months I have received many emails asking what the Daily Discipline is all about. This is a FUN daily exercise burst I started a few years ago to keep myself motivated on those incredibly busy days or those days I just didn’t have the oomph to get into the gym. Something I can do anywhere at any time, even while cooking. Now, I use it as a reminder for YOU to get up and into action.
By following these bursts of exercises, you can feel good about yourself in a few short minutes by committing to a goal that is do-able. Whether you are at work, at home, sitting at the computer or driving on the highway, stop for 5 minutes and do a burst! You will feel refreshed and successful.
January 2011 Challenge, 30 days of Discipline:
The challenge here is to do something active each day. Something as simple as:
- 15 Jumping Jacks
- 5 Push Ups
- 10 Crunches
- 10 Tricep Dips
- 5 Burpees
- 10 Squats
Once you have mastered this sequence (without stopping) you can increase your repetitions, so instead of 15 Jumping Jacks, do as many as you can, same with the rest of the exercises. A challenge designed like this is 99% successful with anyone that I have coached. It is short so it even grabs the attention of people who detest working out, but know they have to do something. It is fun, short, do-able and it makes a difference. So, get started in January with making your heart and life healthier. Physical activities are just as habit forming as anything else.
Happy New Year!
