McGuinty Government Encourages Families To Explore Their Province

As children get back to school today, parents are already starting to think about what to do for Family Day and March Break. The province is encouraging families to enjoy a staycation right here in Ontario.For Family Day, Northwestern Ontarians can hit the slopes at Kiwissa, snowshoe at Neys Provincial Park, or snowmobile the Superior Snow Challenge Loop. They can go ice fishing or travel a little further to the South for Ottawa’s Winterlude Festival and skate the Rideau Canal. The whole family can also visit one of the many
galleries, museums and festivals across the province.
During March Break kids can participate in the Royal Ontario Museum March Break Camp or the special kids’ seminars at Ottawa’s Canada Science and Technology Museum. Hop aboard a horse-drawn sleigh and sample delicious maple taffy on snow at the Wheelers March Break Maple Festival in McDonalds Corners in the Lanark Highlands, or indulge in March Break Madness at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg.
As families begin planning their staycation with fun-filled activities, they can also enter to win a ski resort getaway, an adventure in Ottawa, or a $2500 gift certificate to one of Ontario’s Finest Inns and Spas.
With so much to see and do, families will have no trouble finding Family Day and March Break activities for the kids right here in Ontario.
