December 20, 2010
Ontario Minister of Transportation Kathleen Wynne issued the following statement regarding the OPP investigation concerning some individuals working in the Ontario government.
“Today, Ontarians learned that three members of the Ontario Public Service are facing criminal charges. Following an internal government audit, police were notified and launched an investigation that resulted in these charges.
As the Ontario Provincial Police said earlier today, government officials have fully cooperated throughout the investigation and we’re grateful for the work that our internal audit team and the OPP have done.
The Ontario Public Service consists of hardworking, dedicated individuals committed to providing the public services Ontarians rely on. When employees do engage in misconduct, it is a very serious matter and appropriate action is taken.”
